Dear Families,
We are always working to improve and simplify communication between you and Tri-Valley CUSD #3. Keeping up with your child’s coursework and their teachers directly impacts their well-being both in the classroom and at home. School communication plays a big part in all of this, but it’s often not set up to be as simple and easy to access as it could be.
That’s what we’re working to solve. Beginning on January 27th, we are adding a new feature called Rooms to our Tri-Valley district app. Rooms will provide you with classroom and teacher-based announcements as well as so much more!
Our district app currently offers:
Live school-wide feed updates
District and school news
Upcoming events on the school calendar
Lunch menus
Push notifications for important and urgent announcements
With Rooms, you’ll now have access to more features such as:
Classroom and teacher-based announcements
Reminders about coursework and materials
Two-way messaging with teachers and staff
Automatic syncing with Google Classroom for those teachers already on that platform
Automatic translation
This change is our effort to provide centralized, safe, and secure communication. You will still access your child’s academic progress and grades through Skyward Family Access. For everything else related to Tri-Valley, we are transitioning all information and communication tools to one place: within our Tri-Valley CUSD #3 app. If you don’t already have it, the district app is free and you can download it in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store!
So what’s next? On January 27th, you will receive an invite to Rooms by email or text. Once you receive the invite, please follow the link on your browser to create a log in.
After you’ve created your login, you will be able to immediately access Rooms through the Tri-Valley app. Once you’re there, you’ll see the menu icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Just touch Rooms to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them both listed in the menu section of Rooms.
We hope this offers you a richer, simpler—and ultimately—easier communication experience. You can read more about Rooms on our district’s Rooms FAQ page here. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Go Vikings!
